Wow .. Qué precios! O_o Habrá que improvisar a base de ingenio: cajones de feria (Huerta), bidones (¿dónde lo vi? había plantado unas semillas en unas tinajas viejas, y le habían crecido unos fresones hermosos y espabilados, que asomaban flamantes al cielo por los agujeros) ..

Planeta Huerto: Bulbos de Otoño. También me gustaría plantar manzanilla dulce (Matricaria chamomilla) en jardineras colgantes de ratán o mimbre; el otro día, no recuerdo dónde, vi que alguien había conseguido que le creciera en su balcón, y se veía preciosa .. 

Planeta Huerto: Mix Huerto Urbano (contiene algunas de las frutas y verduras de Recetas Veganas y mis dos plantas medicinales o hierbas del druida favoritas, menta piperita y salvia).

Huerto Culinario

Una huerta para plantas medicinales y culinarias... Hace tiempo que lo había pensado. Planté menta suavolens, menta piperita, salvia, perejil, romero... Pero vinieron mosquitas y hasta orugas a vivir también en mis macetas. Creo que fue el exceso de agua y de sol. Dos hierbas del druida me llegaron al alma en esa cruzada: mi salvia y mi piperita. Tengo que volver a encontrarlas... Pero eso es de las cosas que más noto me acompañan, que han quedado, que se filtraron por el cetro para tomar tierra conmigo, que orbitan alrededor de mi cabeza como el ala de mi sombrero de bruja, desde que aterricé en mi propio curso-proyecto para magos y brujas de Magia Aplicada. Ya hace días, semanas, que me apetece llenar mi terraza con flores de temporada, tulipanes, narcisos... con sus colores, sus cuidados diarios... Pero esto... Como siempre, empezar por el principio facilita las cosas. Es inspiradora la idea de una huerta a prueba de tontos, y tremendamente inspirador el relato de la experiencia de ese tonto listo, la humilde narración de su fabuloso trabajo de campo... pues ya planta y come sus picantes, poderosos, deformes y preciosos rabanitos .. comprendo que sean los mejores rabanitos del universo... y sus rúculas, que crecieron en un cajón de feria, deliciosas y abundantes ... y las que no comieron quedaron floreciendo felices, ahora con una flor blanca, chiquita y delicada .. y qué decir de los dos tomatitos que dio fuera de temporada esa planta tomatera rescatada de una vida sufrida dentro de un apartamento con poca luz... mis respetos también para esa tomatera, la planta más guerrillera .. comprendo la mayor ceremonia del mundo a la hora de comer aquellos dos tomatitos... además el tonto listo ha empezado a compostar su tierra con restos de frutas y verduras que alimentarán a otras frutas y verduras .. comprendo la fascinación con que se contempla el simple ciclo de las cosas, y que lo que te enseñan la tierra y el verdeo son las lecciones felices y silenciosas que te das cuenta no has estudiado, y que son las únicas que verdaderamente vale la pena saber.
Y me anima la lista de tonto que sigue creciendo en su metrito de huerta ..

*zanahorias

*más rabanitos

*algunas flores

*unas cebollas de verdeo y puerros (reciclados, compró la planta, la comió pero dejó la parte de las raices en agua... y de ahi nació de vuelta una planta)

*romero

*tomillo

*albahaca verde y violeta (no sabía que había otros colores)

*menta (hace unas infusiones riquísimas y crece sin parar)

*lino (de casualidad, por unas semillas que se mojaron sin querer y no quiso tirar)

*perejil (que todavía no ha asomado sus hojitas)

También he vuelto acercarme, con un interés distinto, más consciente y depurado, por tanto renovado, a los entornos donde habita HerbMother o la bruja verde Latisha Guthrie.

Y no sería justo dar por acabado este escrito sin decir que en casa de Wicked Sister hace tiempo que se plantan algunas flores, tomateras, ahora calabazas, y también árboles frutales. De hecho, el otro día hablábamos que le atraen más estos menesteres en el exterior de lo que le interesan los Trabajos en el interior jeje!

Prismacolor Colored Pencils

You've asked to see my basic painting process so here's one example. 

I usually start off with a fairly detailed drawing, well after many thumbnail sketches and scribbles (which will never see the light of day! LOL ) Then with watercolors I create a solid foundation for the many layers of colored pencils that's applied on top. This base helps me be able to achieve the deep rich colors that I so love!

Jane Starr Weils Art Prismacolor pencils. They are a lil on the waxy side but they are what I am familiar with.

Jane Starr Weils Art I don't usually use a blending solvent other than grabbing a lighter shade pencil to blend. Prisma color pencil also has a pencil that is labeled "blender" but mostly it's just to waxy so use a lighter shade as I said to blend. Plus when you work up many layers of these pencils, can almost blend them with your finger.

Jane Starr Weils Art As for brushes, I really don't have a particular brand...I tend to just go "pet" all the brushes (LOL) till one feels just right to me. I do prefer something with a long angled point I would say is a fave brush shape.

Here she is, Spring Solstice Witch! The final in this series of four!

Spring Solstice Witch breathes in the fresh fragrant spring air, a time when the earth blooms in it's renewal. She is surrounded by delicate apple blossoms, rabbits, tulips and daffodils as well as delicate lil robin eggs tucked in carefully crafted nests. On the standing stones is a symbol for life emerging from the earth and she has tucked under her hat a red Anemone in honor of Persephone.

Amanda Clark lives in a country village in England UK. She is mainly a self-taught artist and comes from an artist family. She was encouraged to paint from an early age by other artists.

Amanda gained a National Diploma in ceramics and surface pattern in the early 1990's, which helped her develop her use of .colour and pattern in her paintings. She also creates textiles, ceramics and art dolls.

Amanda has been able to resume a full-time professional career in painting and illustrating, and has collectors in the UK, Spain and Australia to date.

As an artist, Amanda is inspired by folklore and myths and the peacefulness of beautiful landscapes with a twist of fairytale and magic. She paints in acrylic and watercolour creating depth and pattern to the beautiful colours in her creations. My last treasured discovery, Jane Starr Weils Art. La expresividad de la acuarela me parece muy divertida. Esa falta de control me gusta

Finalmente decidí que tal vez debería empezar por lo que me cautivó desde el principio .. Ilustración con acuarelas y lápiz. Busqué algunas de las ilustradoras de LIJ (Literatura Infantil y Juvenil) que más me han gustado, Claudia Deglioumini y Patricia Metola. A continuación, un extracto de una entrevista a Patricia Metola:

“Con témperas y acuarela. Al principio trabajaba también con lápiz, y a veces cojo un poco el lápiz, pero normalmente, desde hace bastante tiempo, trabajo sobre todo con pinturas al agua. Me gusta mucho jugar con los trazos. Jugar con un trazo seco, con una aguada, ese trazo imprevisible, no saber muy bien qué va a pasar... La expresividad de la acuarela me parece muy divertida. Esa falta de control me gusta."

¡Pintura acrílica! ¡Acrílica otra vez! Todos sus cuadros son pinturas acrílicas. Pintados con acrílicos, igual que la arcilla de polímero, la arcilla, el barro, la porcelana fría y la pasta de sal. De hecho, Amanda Clark obtuvo un Diploma en Cerámica y Diseño de Superficies. Cerámica (del griego "keramikos": superficie quemada). La *arcilla* endurecida por el *fuego* fue la primera *cerámica* del ser humano. Clay. Ceramica. Euan The Potter. Modelling. Painting. They surely help one another. Euan Craig gained a BA in Ceramics Design at Latrobe University.

¡Oops .. polimérica!

Justamente acabo de terminar de ver unos cuantos tutoriales sobre porcelana fría/pasta francesa/arcilla polimérica casera y sobre pasta de sal/migajón. La primera sigue sin gustarme (aunque me encantan los resultados, PERO yo soy coherente, con lo que para mí el fin no justifica los medios), pues es policloruro de vinilo, igual que la arcilla polimérica convencional, o sea un polímero o plástico derivado del petróleo, y de ninguna manera quiero eso en el horno de mi Cocina, ni por mi Casa :/ Y la segunda, aunque sólo requiere 3 ingredientes: harina, sal y agua, y las rustic basic tools que toda kitchen witch tiene por su cocina, pues no me acaba de convencer el acabado tan mate que queda .. No sé .. Ya veremos. De momento, hoy me apunté para tomar clases de modelado con barro y arcilla a cargo de un escultor aquí en el pueblo. Estoy pendiente de que se forme el grupo, y me interesaría que entrase el material en el precio de las clases, ya que de momento es sólo para probar si me gusta...
