Scottish novelist, poet, essayist and travel writer Robert Louis Balfour Stevenson (13 November 1850 – 3 December 1894) took the native name Tusitala (Samoan for "Teller of Tales", i.e. a storyteller, a wordsmith, a cantadora, cuentista or keeper of the old stories in the Latina tradition).
