Chapter 1 - “She
is not only a witch but a fileuse de temps as well?” Françoise asked Matthew
quietly. The unfamiliar term —“time
spinner”—conjured up images of the many different-colored threads we’d followed
to reach this particular past.
Chapter 8 - “I’m a timewalker.” The word hung in the air
between the three of us. “You call it a fileuse de temps.” - Shadow of Night by Deborah Harkness
Frigg, Norse goddess of love, marriage, home and destiny,
weaving the thread of life in her spinning wheel
The Artistry of a Wordsmith! – The Wonder In
Words
I have a
question for all of you spinners, dyers, knitters and wordsmiths out there. Weavers of Words, Spinners of Tales, Spinning and Weaving Stories and Tales. Hiladoras de Palabras, Tejedoras de Historias. What will your verse be?
Letters are magic, powerful symbols capable of casting a spell (witchcraft). Words - marks on paper or vibrations of air - can hurt or heal us with their magic power. The healing power of words is their most magical aspect. Writers, like the shamans or medicine men and women of ancient cultures, have the potential to be healers.
Whether written or spoken, using those letters (and words) also gives an individual the power to persuade and transform others, perhaps an entire nation, and subsequently the entire world.

An artisan (from French: artisan, Italian: artigiano) is a skilled craft worker who makes or creates things by hand that may be functional or strictly decorative, for example furniture, decorative arts, sculptures, clothing, jewellery, household items and tools or even mechanical mechanisms such as the handmade clockwork movement of a watchmaker. Artisans practice a craft and may through experience and aptitude reach the expressive levels of an artist. As verbal artisans, we’ll hew, plane, chisel, and polish to make your message shine. Picture us as origami masters, deftly folding and shaping the words.
