Ancestors who were weavers, drummers and singers – women versed in herbalism, stone medicine and doll making, daughters of the great primordial mother archetype, the one who is a wise woman – a midwife, herbalist and healer to her people – bringing new life into this world but also helping folks make the journey through the threshold back to the otherworld at the end of their lives, women whose language was ritual, ceremony and the ways of magic they could weave, women who danced between the worlds, millions of women of my lineage whose voices are knitted into my very bones.
