La Práctica del Oficio y el Arte Alrededor de un Fuego: Everyday Sacred Hearth and Home Witchcraft & The Sagewordsmith Soul and the Art of Storytelling

NEW TO EARTH MEDICINE?🌿

You might be asking yourself, what is Earth Medicine? Is it like Wicca? Witchcraft? Magic? North or South American Indian ways? Celtic wisdom?

Earth Medicine is the healing art of working with plant, mineral and animal qualities to bring about holistic wellness in the mind and spirit.

For some, this information lands like a direct hit on the soul: those who have always felt at home in nature, have felt that sense of awe in the plant kingdom, have wondered why certain animals come around exhibiting odd behaviors at coincidental times…

My approach is an integrative, philosophical approach to healing with Earth Medicine which addresses the way we think about things, as well as the ideas which come through working with the healing qualities of the living entities. - Pixie Lighthorse

Earth Medicine is the art of listening to mythic wisdom that the natural forces and livings beings hold, is tuning into this healing vibration, is the gift of experiencing the world that surrounds you in a mythic way, is this gifted mythic understanding, this fine bioperception (kawsay) that every sensitive, naturally skilled clairsentient animal has, is the attunement of our earthly body, the sacred vessel that carries me through this life, to this healing vibration, is a cosmovision.

Earth Medicine is an ancient practice of connection with the spiritual sanctuary, the soul home that nature is for the earth-dwellers. Earth Medicine is about shamanic “journey”.

May the element of earth be awakened in our body and may we feel the resiliency and stability that is our body temple. May we feel grounded, rooted. May return home within our own bodies and may we live in service to the great mother Tonantzin, Pachamama, Gaia •Tlazocamati•

As I make peace within my own body and compost old stories, I ground in and connect to the soil, to the mother, to my home. - Centehua Sage

May we always be cozy and well fed in this humble little home 🙏🏽

Ha sido un absoluto horror atravesar todo el término municipal de Castellbisbal. No se libran tampoco Olesa, Abrera, Martorell... no pasa desapercibido que Castellví de Rosanes anda circundando a toda esta "mala gente". No me extraña que un animal como yo, "naturally skilled" "and sentisitive to the surroundings, or bioperceptive" enfermase ahí.

Alma y corazon.

My hearth priestessing work 🔥

On this Indigenous Peoples Day Id like to honor the woman who raised me and her family. This is four generations of resiliency! this picture represents the backbone of Mexico, the women who work the hardest and give the most. Susana in blue, fed me the most nourishing loving meals, her food shaped me and healed me. Food is a conduit for love. Susana fed me culture, ancient traditions and remembering. Her huazontles and verdolagas en chile verde are the most delicious meals i've ever had! Today I rejoice in the love for wild foods she instilled in me and the art of cooking. She taught me that service is being available to love, she taught me everything through example. I am who I am today thanks to the transmissions of authenticity and integrity that I received daily from this brave soul. Indigenous people do their work, humbly and with dignity. These women carry themselves with unpretentious pride and earthly beauty. Susana's love radiates through the smiles of all the people she's touched. She was not a nanny, she was a mother, every woman who feeds and cares for the young must be acknowledged for their maternal love. Blessed be the mamas, may we acknowledge our kin and praise the hands that shaped us.

Minoan Priestess. Symbols of Home.
Name "Minoans" given to people who lived in Crete in the Late Stone Age. "Snake goddess" figurines were found only in house sanctuaries in Crete in the Bronze Age, where the figurine appears as "the goddess of the household", and they are related with the anthropological tradition regarding woman or cook-gatherer and domesticity or hearth and home realm. The figurines have also been interpreted as showing  a mistress of animals-type earth goddess or high priestess.
🐍
The snake, like the ferret, is a creature of the earth and one that moves between worlds, knowing the mysteries of the Underworld. According to a Basque tradition, there exists a secret Witches' realm beneath the hollow hills "where all things abound, especially folkloric life-giving foods like milk and honey, which run in abundant rivers." Snakes are intimately connected with Witchcraft and Goddesses of Witchcraft because venom could be used as drug or poison, and thus, to heal or to cause death.
🐍
The serpent on the cimarutathis Italian amulet that is a stylized sprig of rue (Cima di Ruta) traditionally crafted in silver, is featured coiled around the moon. It represents the Roman Goddess Proserpina, whorshipped by witches, the goddess of night (darkness) and the Underworld (subconscious)The darkness is a place of unknowing only travelled by the fools and the sages, two sides of the moon or two sides of the same coin. Although her name Proserpina is the Latin form of the Greek Persephone, they are not identical goddesses. Ancient writers such as Lucan refer to Proserpina as the "last and lowest" of the three aspects of Hecate. Her name is derived from the Latin 'serpere', to creep or crawl, rendered 'proserpere', meaning to crawl forward. Like Hecate, the serpent, torch and key are all symbols associated with Proserpina.

The key appearing on the cimaruta charm is a symbol of the hidden mysteries, and the power to open the gates or bar them. The gatekeeper of the mysteries.

The last charm on the cimaruta is the vervain blossom. Vervain, in ancient plant lore, was an herb sacred to the Fae or the Fay people. In european folklore, the Fairy and the Witch often appear as kindred beings, and in some cases (such as the 'donna di fuora' found in Sicilian lore), there is little if any difference between them. The Fairy, like the Witch, is also a keeper of the doorways between the worlds, the hedge being found in liminal places where they dwell.

pagan tarot Check out the Fool Card from the Pagan Tarot Deck! I mean, here's the young witch (wicce, 'wise'), venturing out into the dark (the unknown), with only her cat (Manawee's dog embodies one's own instinctive nature in Women Who Run With the Wolves by Clarissa Pinkola Estés) to guide her!

Beautiful Fire Medicine

What is Fire Medicine
The sun rising in the eastern sky is a fireball that promises new beginnings. It transforms night into day by radiating light. That’s fire medicine.
In my dream priestessing work, fire is the medicine of springtime, and with it comes the flames of creative visioning and transformation.
Fire medicine is potent stuff. It ignites your creative spark, fueling the passion you need to manifest your desires.
Yet like all medicine, too much can become toxic, and unless you know how to work with fire medicine, you can quickly go from feeling “on fire” to burning out. (My 3 Favorite Ways to Build Ojas - "I'm running on fumes" by Ginny Mazzei at International Yoga, and noted down here)
So how do you develop your own fire medicine in healthy ways so you can tend the flame of your heart’s desire? That’s what this post is all about.
Prescriptions for Beautiful Fire Medicine
When I work with my clients I help address and heal core ancestral wounds that are interfering with balanced fire medicine. Together we usually find a point in the lineage during which a drama or trauma occurred to shift a healthy balance into a “wound” that perpetuates and grows as it’s passed down through the lineage.

As we work together I listen to the words they use as well as the feelings they experience and from these I create a “remedy” or “prescription” that might include dreamwork, flower essences, herbal teas, essential oils, or journal writing, all of which are intended to help them move through their “wound” so they can create permanent transformation.
Here are a few examples of what I might “prescribe” if there is a fire medicine imbalance. (Keep in mind that remedies and prescriptions are tailored to each individual. What’s right for one person is not necessarily right for another.)
Dreamwork
Dream incubation is one of my favorite ways to find direction and you can read about it here.
Flower Essence
- Not enough fire: Tansy is for people who are suppressing their purpose due to indecision or lethargy.
- Too much fire: Vervain is for people who experience intense enthusiasm and are trying to convert others to their belief system. This flower essence helps instill moderation.
What’s your relationship with fire medicine?
Are you feeling balanced?
Or do you need to realign?
Whatever your situation, spend some time this month feeling grateful for the fire in your life. Greet the sun in the morning. Stand in the warm rays for five minutes. Let the fire fill you with visions and help you transform them into reality.

🌚 NEW MOON in Libra October 8th 2018~

L u n a n e g r a 🌚

Norwegian Kitchen Witch

Surely some of my Grandmothers and Aunts had a Cottage Witch Kitchen Doll I STILL LOVE!
"The Legendary Secret of Goof-Proof Cooking: The Famous Kitchen Witch
For centuries, Norwegians have hung this good witch in their kitchen. They believe she has the power to keep roasts from burning, pots from boiling over, and sauces from spilling."
Norwegian Kitchen Witch

I'll call mine Asia. I'm trying that she flies from Palinay, muñecas indígenas down the chimney and enters my house to do goodness.
